Upgrade server without losing current library?

Been putting off upgrading to 1.9 but would like to pull the trigger. Is it possible to upgrade to newer versions of Ubooquity without having to rebuild the library?

If your current version is 1.7.0 or later, the library will not need to be rebuilt, just replace the jar file.

(there has not been any breaking database modification since then)

Thanks for the clarification Tom, good to know.

On upgrading to 3.1 and Java 1.7 I am getting loading and Java exception error. At a loss as to how to recover my db

Upgrading from 2.X version to 3.x means loosing the database: you have to rebuild the library

What's the best way to do that. Sorry, haven't messed with this for years.
