calibre and folder view
Hello,
when i'm using a calibre library, in the folder view, even for a single book i'have to click 3 times before finaly reach the book and the description..etc.. i know it's not a big deal but when you have a lot of book and you whant to choose something to read, it's boring.
Of course the calibre folder structure is in cause, but if you know a way to avoid this :)
Many thanks

This is my biggest annoyance right now. I'm actually running two libraries (!) - one calibre library and one "save books to disk" library with all the files in "flatter" folders.
My Calibre code is nasty but it might help someone else?
Preferences/Saving Books To Disk/Save Template
{author_sort:switch(^[A-D],[A - D],^[E-J],[E - J],^[K-O],[K - O],^[P-T],[P - T],^[U-Z],[U - Z],[Other])}/{author_sort}_{series}{series_index:| |: }{title}
There has to be a more elegant solution to (1) browse pictures of book covers while (2) using calibre??? Calibre is the only eBook metadata organiser/fixer and I can't believe no-one else has this problem? Alternative solutions welcome.
REQUEST: Tom can you just add a tick box called "I use Calibre" which make it skip a few layers of folders to get the cover image???
Can I just add that I use LazyLibariian to populate Calibre, so if we had a tool chain that went LazyLibarian > Calibre > Ubooquity I'd be in doggy heaven.
Sometime I also do SABMini (iOS) > Sabnzbd > Hazel > Calibre > BROKEN > Ubooquity. I need that beach in Thailand solution!!!
I guess I could quite easily ignore the lowest directory above a book in the case of a Calibre library.
Meaning you would get in Ubooquity:
instead of:
Is this what you had in mind ?
I think that would be great.
Here is what I see in KyBook browsing a direct Calibre library through Ubooquity (i.e. no covers). Obviously if I click into any of these I then see the cover.
Here is what I see in KyBook browsing a Calibre library that has been exported to a flatter folder structure (i.e. covers) (using my ugly kludge above)
I'm a visual thinker. The cover reminded me of stuff. Covers are sexy.
Tom, you are a legend!!!!!!!!!!! Fixed in the latest version.
