V3.1.0 issues from scratch, sort order for cover initial covers, all books disappear when security is enabled, Windows 11 setup.
Hello, I have a large library of 88k comics and books library. I really enjoy your platform, thank you for your work! I've been on 2.1.5 since its release and just decided to move to 3.1.0. Starting from scratch on a Windows 11 pro platform and installed Temurin JDK 25. Starts fine, I manually created my libraries and users from scratch and did a full scan,
In 2.1.5 I have all my comics file structure going to a map drive on my Synology NAS E:\comics\(Comic Name)\(Comic Group)\(Comic Issues).cbr. I have a cover.cbr file in the (Comic Name) folder. This is to make the main index of comics look nice and the ability for me to choose the cover for the comic. 2.1.5 use to always pull the 1st .cbr available in the directory tree for the cover before hitting the directories \(Comic Groups) for the rest of the issues. 3.1.0 will pick the 1st name of the folder the issues are in and not the 1st .cbr in the directory tree. I can fix it by adding a ! to the beginning of the file name of the !cover.cbr. Just wanted to let you know that the scan sort is different from 2.1.5. Also, if I do change the file name to !cover.cbr and run a scan again, it detects the name changed of the file but does not update the cover image. That means for adding new comics the main cover image won't change if the new imported comic comes before the ones already imported. I have to clear the database and rescan and rebuild the database from scratch. 88K comics takes 24hrs :).
Last when I enable security, I can't access any comics, it says no comics in library. If I turn security off, then all come back but users can save there read states. I do have all my comics stored on a Synology NAS with an SMB file share for Windows to map too. I did read in your forum of issues with symbolic link and a different path or issues with NAS and security. But this is setup for Windows share so I'm not sure it is the same issues but sounds very close. I guess I could know more If I placed the 2.5 TB library on a Windows machine and not a NAS. I was going to revert back to 2.1.5 but I'd like to stay up to date with your platform since it looks like you are continuing to support Ubooquity.
