Do other Synology users have problems starting Ubooquity on DSM 6 and Java8? Or is it just my setup?

This happend the past 7 days 3 times on my pc (windows + chrome) and 2 times on my tabled (iOS + iCab). I use the default theme.

I did try that, but could not make it work. But found on the forum how to make the exclusion pattern work.

I use: .*.@eaDir

Thanx for the info.

How did you Synology user handle the @eaDir problem? The option to hide empty folders in Ubooquity hides the folder, but it results in 19 comics shown on the page the @eaDir was pressend. My default setting is 20 comics on one page.

Now I run a task to remove the @eaDir in my comics folder. I was wondering if there is a better way.

I agree the "up" button works counter-intuitive in this situation. Returning to page 1 unexpected, that happend a lot when I first started to use Ubooquity. I use an iPad to read my comics. And put my browser in full screen mode. In that case the browser "back" button is inaccessible. So you have to exit full screen mode before you can use the browser "back" button.

You could change the behavior of the "up" button when in dir or sub dir to "back". Or you could make an extra "back" button available when in dir or sub dir.

I did not know you could click on the page number. Thanx for the tip.

This was still on my to do list. Finally made some time to test this out. I used the script from Christian W from this topic: http://ubooquity.userecho.com/topic/576717-tutorial-install-ubooquity-on-a-synology-nas/

Changed the Java and Work DIR.

Works like a charm. I am happy.

Thanx all for helping me out.

Yes you understand correctly. When I go to the ubooquity.jar dir and use the command "java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar Ubooquity.jar -webadmin" it works perfectly. Using your startup script edited in the ubooquity.conf file did not work.

Take your time. Glad you are willing to help.

I remember Ubooquity did import non US-ASCII file names on my Synology in the past. I posted a problem with the sorting of comic's starting with the letter  on this forum. But was using an older version of DSM, Ubooquity and Java.
I am sorry to say, but it is not working. I don't see non US-ASCII characters in my comic DB.

I stopped Ubooquity. Edited ubooquity.conf to your startup script. Deleted the work/userdir, just to be sure. Started Ubooquity to run a new scan. No non US-ASCII characters to be found.

Did I do something wrong?
