webp support
ComicRack included support for reading and converting to webp images a while back. Webp offers excellent lossy compression while maintaining relative image quality for comic pages. I do understand webp is not nearly as widely supported as jpg, but almost all android tablets and phones (as well as chrome) support it.
Unfortunately, while almost all of my issues have been saved to webp in cbz, Ubooquity is only working with the handful of issues I still have in jpg/cbz.

unable to add folders of images (manga) as raw
I noticed that none of the manga folders were showing up under the comics section. In general, mangas are a bunch of loose images in a folder and it would be a huge task to go through and zip up the individual chapters.
I understand that the comics type is limited to cbr/cbz files so I added a folder of mangas under raw files but nothing shows up. What am I missing? Is the raw files sharing module limited to specific file types?

User name with accent not well supported
It's been a while...
I just found out that when you add a user with an accent in his name ("Eléonore" e.g.), then the system understands it, and the user can login.
But when he clicks on the database he has access (Comics in my case), then he's back to the login screen. Again & again...
I resolved it by deleting the account and recreating it without the accent.
Logs were also showing a hint: "[login:Eléonore]"
Cheers,
Matthieu
Upgrade server without losing current library?
Been putting off upgrading to 1.9 but would like to pull the trigger. Is it possible to upgrade to newer versions of Ubooquity without having to rebuild the library?

Help How to for ubuntu 14 headless?
Does anyone have a comprehensive write up for setting up ubooquity on a headless ubuntu server 14.04 Or perhaps help me fill in the blanks? I'm pulling my hair out with how to configure, nix isn't my strongest suit but this is the last piece I need to complete a full media server for my kids so they stop watching youtube!
sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre-headless
sudo mkdir /etc/opt/ubooquity
cd /etc/opt/ubooquity
sudo wget http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/service/download.php -O ubooquity.zip
sudo apt-get install unzip
unzip ubooquity.zip -d ubooquity
wget http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/downloads/scripts/ubooquity.sh
sudo apt-get install dos2unix -y
dos2unix ubooquity.sh
sudo chmod u+x ubooquity.sh
./ubooquity.sh start
Then I went and did the below and it says ubooquity starts but the page displays nothing.
sudo chown root /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
sudo chgrp root /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
sudo chmod 755 /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
sudo update-rc.d /etc/init.d/ubooquityd defaults
sudo update-rc.d ubooquityd defaults
sudo service ubooquityd stop
sudo nano /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
