Hi TierparkToni,

thank you for your description how to start with a new clean Ubooquity 2.1. It works. I am now in the admin panel of a fresh installation. And now I have found the way to choose the correct path to the books without symlinks. After scanning the smaller folders I still get into the admin panel. And the protection of shared content with the user accounts works!

Now I will scan the great library and hope, that tomorrow in the morning everything is scanned and Ubooquity works fine.

Hi TierparkToni,

thank you for your help. But I cannot try this, because my complete 2.1 installation is not reachable after

scanning the main book folder. I will try it, when I reach the server again. Or do you see a connection between the "absolute path" topic and that I cannot reach the server anyway. See last section in my first post.

Thanks for help in advance.

I cannot try this, because my 2.1 installation is not reachable after scanning the main book folder. I will try it, when I reach the server again.

I have the same issue with version 2.1 on QNAP. The rights of "Preferences.JSON" are set to 0777. Perhaps it is a bug in variables naming?

THANK YOU! it works!
Incidentally, it also works with QJDK7. First I have only deactivated the QJDK7 and actived the QJDK8. But after a restart of Ubooquity Server I got errors in the log file. After that I tried the changed UbooQuity.sh file with QJDK7 and int works fine. After that I changed back to QJDK8 and made a Restart of my QNAP NAS. Now it works fine with QJDK8.
The topic of DST I solved in this way:
$JAVA -Duser.timezone=Etc/GMT-2 -jar Ubooquity.jar -webadmin -headless &
When we change to normal time, I change the entry manually to "Etc/GMT-1".
Thank you very much!

Hi, Sparkss,
because I am
not enough familiar with server management, it would be great
if you could post your modified .sh file and how to use QJDK8.
Thank you. It seems that Ubooquity uses Greenich Mean Time.
Hi Tom, you have solved the problem! After your first answer, I have stopped and restarted the server once more. And the last line in the logfile after the entries of server start was the same Scanner thread line with the same PDF-File like that from yesterday. The reason was a corrupt PDF File. I just deleted the file and now I just deleted the file and now the scanner continues with other books and the books of the new directories.
Thank you for your push. Now I can explore the further possibilitiesof sharing books.
Yes, once I stopped and restarted only the Ubooquity server, once I restart the NAS too. But both tries had no effect. On the server admin page I see "Last scan: in progress..."
I am using Ubooquity on a QNAP NAS since 2 days. I see in my log files, that the server ist 2 hours behind the NAS system time. Is it a problem for the operation of the server?
