I use the books section, so definitely curious to see what you've done!
I like old and indie, what can I say :)
I wonder if Wildstorm is coming back now as a true imprint or still under the DC banner like Young Animals.
A lot of books have moved between publishers over the years so getting this nitty-gritty makes for a bit of a challenge as to where to put them (books like The Crow or Kabuki have been published by nearly everyone it seems). I usually just put them based on what I actually own, but sometimes that crosses publishers too, which makes for a bad UX. I've considered using hardlinks but maybe I can repurpose the script you built for story arcs hmm.. Would make a "publisher" like Millarworld viable, even though his books have been technically published all over the place.
Thought I'd share my custom Publisher folders, as I've made a bunch of them at this point. Some of these are straight rips from comixology, others required some photoshop work or luck with google images. Some here are basically the same but with a variant folder/header images over what has been posted before (I just couldn't look at the default Todd McFarlane or Top Cow folder images anymore).
Really happy with some of these (Checker BPG, El Capitán), not so with other (AiT/Planet Lar, Last Gasp), happy for any input or improvements!

I'd argue largest is not necessarily better, but there might be another way to discern the optimal one... Or, as suggested earlier on the thread, we just build a repository (wiki?) with what people on this thread end up doing. It'll cover the top 200 books in no time.
yup, same. Ultimately, there's only so many books on the shelf anyway.
Might be a nice idea to figure out a way to share these in a repository somewhere esp. for ones we've edited ourselves as other people might see the same problem...
Did you set all the advanced settings in the README.TXT?
ha, okay, hadn't noticed until now I guess! Does it provide both though in the API response? May make sense to take the series if it exists, and if it's blank move to the first issue.
Take a look at Hellblazer or Johnny the Homicidal Maniac in comicvine and see the distinct difference between the series desc and 1st issue desc and you'll see what I mean ;)
For Hellblazer I ended up taking the description from the character page John Constantine in the end!
Hmm. PageBuilder seems to (sometimes? need more testing) take the description from the first issue rather than the series description from comicvine page linked in cvinfo. Not sure what the API response looks like but I assume it provides both?
works amazing! Thanks!
