Webtoon reader mode

I need a webtoon mode. It should be vertical scroll continuous. It will maximize the width of images when reading on phone or tablet.

AudioBooks mod

George Baker 5 years ago updated 4 years ago 6

This is an extension of the Audiobooks modification that was posted a year or so ago.

You point the raw files to an AB directory and it changes to an audiobook shower and player.

Working out the files needed for this, as a few mods were done to various files.

As you can see I have added banners to the pages to make them look better (uses banner or defaults to a folder.jpg if no banner.png found. Otherwise no pretty pic if neither are found.

Anyone interested?

Of course you lose the RAW file functionality.

Use cover.jpg file as cover instead of guessing it for mobi books

Puneet 5 years ago 0

Ubooquity often shows the wrong cover for mobi format books (about half the time). It usually picks up a cover from another book by the same author, or some random image from within the book. From what I understand, it's trying to 'guess' the cover for mobi format books.

Does it have to do that? If the option 'Shared books are in a Calibre library' is ticked in settings, then Ubooquity should simply pick the 'cover.jpg' file in the same folder as the book, and use that as the cover. Ubooquity doesn't need to guess the cover at all. Is such a fix possible?

I'm using Ubooquity 2.1.2 installed on a QNAP NAS. I've noticed other threads mentioning this. I responded to an old thread with the same issue, but was not sure if it got review. Apologies for the duplicate. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Caching of loaded magazine

Anthony Reinking 6 years ago 0

My biggest issue with Ubooquity is that is doesn't cache the whole issue at once.

It's no fun always waiting for the next page to load...

Cover Page

We need to be able to select which page shows as the cover; lately mags downloaded have their covers on page 2.

Combine File Types

Is there a way to combine multiple file types under one book similar to Calibre?  I have an ePUB and MOBI version of all of my books and they all show up with separately.  Appreciate it!

New category for Photos [Feature Request]

D G 6 years ago 0

Would it take much time and effort to add another category (like Comics and Books) for Photos?  There don't seem to be many easy to stand-up Photo Servers out there.  And just maybe it wouldnt be too much work to add since the Comic section seems like it already kinda does this with JPG/GIF images (albeit inside ZIP/RAR packages).

Just something that would look at existing images in existing folders and make thumbnails of them in a separate Photos section ... again, if it was moderately easy to implement.  Thoughts Tom?

calibre and folder view

Hello,
when i'm using a calibre library, in the folder view, even for a single book i'have to click 3 times before finaly reach the book and the description..etc.. i know it's not a big deal but when you have a lot of book and you whant to choose something to read, it's boring.

Of course the calibre folder structure is in cause, but if you know a way to avoid this :)

Many thanks

Manga reading direction (Right to Left)?

Elliotpage 7 years ago updated by Rasheed Parker 4 years ago 9

Hello,

Is it possible on the built-in web reader in Ubooquity to read a comic from Right to Left?

I read a lot of manga and this would help a great deal - it is a small thing, but makes a difference to the reading experience!

Thanks,

Elliot

New version 2.1 is very slow

Guillaume Dauphinais 7 years ago updated by anonymous 7 years ago 8

Anyone else upgraded to 2.1 after getting a popup of the upgrade? After I did I was annoyed it wouldn't take the old setting and had to reprogram everything but that was mild compare to the awful speed lost. On v1 on my internal network I flick pages as fast as I can tap but on v2 it takes 3 to 4 seconds to flip pages, its mental! I put back v1 and my speed came back immediately.

I like the new look and the admin page being web-based but my experience with v2 is completely awful and would never recommend anyone to upgrade.
