Problem for autostart in Raspbian

scartaris 10 years ago updated by Tom 10 years ago 5
Hello world
Thx for Ubooquity marvellous apps.
I have problem for auto-starting from raspbian on my Pi.
If I launch Ubooquity via ssh (root or not) with "./ubooquity.sh start" all is absolute fine.
But if I add script in rc.local, Ubooquity is auto-started but It not listing my Books with accent.
"à é ë" etc. but others (with no accent) are listed normally.
I'm in pain :(

Comic page image format option in online reader

thingfromspace 10 years ago updated by Tom 10 years ago 1
I'm happy webp support was added! The only issue I've found is slow page loading when reading online. I suspect this is the webp->jpg conversion happening in the background as new pages are requested.

Would it be possible to add an option to allow the user's session to select between native image format (ie send webp unconverted) and converted (ie convert webp to jpg, as it is now)? This should speed up non-jpg page loads dramatically for browsers that support the native image formats.

I realize not all browsers support the webp image format so maybe hiding the option somehow (manually add to preferences.xml?) would prevent the uninformed from mistakenly enabling it.

Ubooquity stops periodically on FreeBSD

Tom Wilkinson 10 years ago updated 8 years ago 34
I am running Ubooquity on FreeNAS 9.2. It is inside a jail and if I start the script Ubooquity will eventually stop being visible on the usual port (I'm not sure if Ubooquity itself is stopping or just the GUI goes).

Currently I have a fix for this that is less than ideal. If there is a constant connection (e.g. leave Chrome pointing to the page at home) I can access Ubooquity indefinitely. As soon as this connection is broken however this issue returns (normally overnight is enough to cause it to go down).

CBZs and CBRs with the wrong extension - one step further?

Jim Howe 11 years ago updated 11 years ago 3
Checking the logs, I see during scans that Ubooquity finds many files in my library with the wrong extension and makes a great guess and I assume it writes the correct file type to the database for its reference.

But it seems to have to spend extra cycles whenever it does this in a scan.  Could this be used as an "auto correct" button script and change the extension automatically, or prompt to change all it believes to be the correct format with a line-item veto for the user?

Maybe someone knows a link to a third-party script that can perform this?

Thanks!

Invalid Zip file on Windows 7 & 10

Bobby Hill 9 years ago updated by Tom 9 years ago 5

I have tried versions 1.8.2 , 1.8.1 and 1.8.0 but they all come up at an invalid zip file when I try to open them. Is there some step that I'm missing?

I have verified that I have the latest version of java, not that this should matter for opening a zip file.

Themes not working properly PC/Android

stefanw1337 10 years ago updated 10 years ago 1
So I've been thinkering with themes this weekend, and modified it to my likings. The backgrounds are problematic however, but I've made it so it scales very good on my PC, using Chrome.

But on my phone it doesn't scale very well, and there seems to be doing something differently on the comic-rootlink page, and when going into the folder itself -with the background. And that's not something I can really do anything about as the comics.css is covering the whole thing.

My background is set in body{} only and it scales and looks perfect on my PC using Chrome. But even the homepage is changed from PC to Android both using Chrome. When using Firefox on my phone the homepage looks like it does on my PC, but then it looks slightly differently when logging in. But it doesn't change the background from rootlink page to the actual listings, like in Chrome.

This is pretty frustrating, and I can see now why there's not a lot of themes out there for the people to download.

User Security not working for Comics

Vincenzo Dell'Oste 9 years ago updated by Derek Sparks 9 years ago 1

After I've configured user account security, I can access Comics section but when I try to access any Comic specific folder I get

Entry not found or user not authorized

The user account security works fine instead with the Books section.

No exception is present in the log file.

[Suggestion] Make the entire web structure available to skinners

Matthew Sanders 10 years ago updated 10 years ago 6
Right now skinners only have access to the images and style sheets.

Please consider moving all of the web server files (html and javascript) to the themes directory so that myself and other skinners may be unconstrained by the current layout.

The web server files are currently embedded in Ubooquity.jar. I could edit these, but would have to distribute a new jar instead of a zipped custom theme directory. If I had to edit the jar I'd have to update the theme with every version even when the new version does not break the layout.

Symbolic Links

specise_8472 10 years ago updated by Tom 10 years ago 2
I do not know if this has been covered. I needed in my Comic collection to have them stored under Series as well as Story Line. I found that if you use Hard Symbolic links, then Ubooquity sees them and opens them. So I can have 'multiple' copies of the same comic without using up disk space.
