unable to add folders of images (manga) as raw

Tom Fieldhouse 8 years ago updated by Tom 8 years ago 15

I noticed that none of the manga folders were showing up under the comics section. In general, mangas are a bunch of loose images in a folder and it would be a huge task to go through and zip up the individual chapters.

I understand that the comics type is limited to cbr/cbz files so I added a folder of mangas under raw files but nothing shows up. What am I missing? Is the raw files sharing module limited to specific file types?

Slashes in name causes no thumbnail

darknessgp 9 years ago updated by Tom 9 years ago 3
I'm not sure if there are other side effects that I just can't see. But, with a slash in the name thumbnails are not generated/pulled but otherwise the comic (cbz) reads fine. Also, I'm using ComicRack, so my comics have that info file in them.

User name with accent not well supported

Matthieu 9 years ago updated by Tom 9 years ago 8
Hi Tom,

It's been a while...
I just found out that when you add a user with an accent in his name ("Eléonore" e.g.), then the system understands it, and the user can login.
But when he clicks on the database he has access (Comics in my case), then he's back to the login screen. Again & again...

I resolved it by deleting the account and recreating it without the accent.

Logs were also showing a hint: "[login:Eléonore]"

Cheers,
Matthieu

Upgrade server without losing current library?

Patrick Johnson 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

Been putting off upgrading to 1.9 but would like to pull the trigger. Is it possible to upgrade to newer versions of Ubooquity without having to rebuild the library?

James King 9 years ago updated by Matthew Sanders 9 years ago 4
Im running ubooquity 1.7.0 ( great program BTW) via a docker in an unraid system.  The regular UI works fine, but Im getting an XML error when accessing opds via my browser (chrome).  I have do OPDS ticked under advanced settings.

via http://myip:8085/opds-books
here is what its spitting out

Is anyone using the OPDS function?

Help How to for ubuntu 14 headless?

Yukaputz Mike 8 years ago updated by Gamal Farag Abdelnaser 6 years ago 21

Does anyone have a comprehensive write up for setting up ubooquity on a headless ubuntu server 14.04 Or perhaps help me fill in the blanks? I'm pulling my hair out with how to configure, nix isn't my strongest suit but this is the last piece I need to complete a full media server for my kids so they stop watching youtube!

sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre-headless
sudo mkdir /etc/opt/ubooquity
cd /etc/opt/ubooquity
sudo wget http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/service/download.php -O ubooquity.zip
sudo apt-get install unzip
unzip ubooquity.zip -d ubooquity
wget http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/downloads/scripts/ubooquity.sh
sudo apt-get install dos2unix -y
dos2unix ubooquity.sh
sudo chmod u+x ubooquity.sh
./ubooquity.sh start

Then I went and did the below and it says ubooquity starts but the page displays nothing.

sudo chown root /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
sudo chgrp root /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
sudo chmod 755 /etc/init.d/ubooquityd
sudo update-rc.d /etc/init.d/ubooquityd defaults
sudo update-rc.d ubooquityd defaults
sudo service ubooquityd stop
sudo nano /etc/init.d/ubooquityd

OPDS via Chunky Comic Reader is slow

Jeremy Bone 9 years ago updated by Tom 9 years ago 15
I'm not sure if the problem is with Ubooquity, Chunky, or my network, but connecting with Chunky to Ubooquity installed on a Synology is really slow. It takes 20+ seconds for each page to load. At first I thought it could be an issue connecting over the internet, but I also tested it locally with the same results. I don't think it's an issue with my network, as Ubooquity web interface loads rather quickly (~2 seconds per page), and my Synology streams other services, including videos, just fine. I also tested ComicStreamer, a different comic streaming service (which I believe uses REST), and it loads comics much faster from Chunky. Is there anything I can do within Ubooquity to help improve the speed?

Scanner thread does not end

Claus44 9 years ago updated by Tom 9 years ago 5
I'm a enthusiastic newbee. I have installed Ubooquity two days ago in version 1-7-6 on my QNAP NAS. It was very easy to install. The server runs, my siblings can access the server and download books. Very good!
Now the server runs since two days, but the scanner thread does not end. My problem: After the initial setup with one directory, I have added three more shared directories, but the books in this directories do not appear in Ubooquity. When I click "Launch new scan" I get this information in the logfile:
20150909 17:39:43 [pool-2-thread-18] INFO com.ubooquity.data.feeder.a - Ignoring scan request as another scan is already running.
But the last entry with scanning is from yesterday:
20150908 13:58:06 [Scanner thread] INFO com.ubooquity.fileformat.pdf.c - Reading metadata of pdf file: /share/MD0_DATA/ePub/Akers, Alan Burt/52 - Dray Prescot - Mord aud Kregen/52 - Dray Prescot - Mord aud Kregen - Alan Burt Akers.pdf

I hope, somebody can help me.
